How does an attention on learning and creating significant learning environments impact or influence your innovation plan?

A focus on learning and creating significant learning environments is the foundation of my innovation plan. My goal is not simply to integrate technology into the classroom, but to create meaningful learning experiences in which students are engaged participants in their education.

By focusing on significant learning environments:

  • Students become more involved and inspired.
  • Learning becomes more authentic and reflective.
  • Students develop ownership of their learning.
  • Reflection and feedback become ongoing parts of the learning process.
  • Students build skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, perseverance, and self-direction.

The blended learning stations and digital portfolios in my innovation plan support these goals by providing opportunities for choice, reflection, collaboration, and authentic demonstration of learning. This approach shifts students away from non-interactive learning and toward developing a true Learner's Mindset that can support lifelong learning and growth.
